Indians Trade Peralta to Tigers

Cleveland Indians hats & merchandise

The Cleveland Indians have made the trade that the fans have been calling for since last season, they have dealt third baseman Jhonny Peralta away to the Detroit Tigers for pitcher Giovanni Soto. With the injury to the Tigers’ Brandon Inge, it is not surprising that they went for Peralta to try to fill a gap at third base. The Tribe gets a very young right hander who is currently pitching for Detroit’s Single-A club. Most of the fans in Cleveland have been calling for the trade of Peralta for the better part of two seasons due to his lack of urgency in the field and lack of production at the plate. Hopefully this trade will work out well for Peralta, who has spent eight seasons with the Tribe but has never seemed to click with the fans.
