The Rockies Pitching Fails Them Again

The Rockies have had their struggles even when there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel. The Rockies offense has well enough for some victories but the pitching cant hold them in the games.

Colorado started the weekend off well with a 6-2 victory of the Twins. They got good pitching form Jorge De La Rosa and the bullpen. The offense backed up the good pitching. Provided by 5 homeruns that included Troy Tulowitzki , Drew Stubbs and Brandon Barnes.

The rest of the series was not as happy. Saturday Tyler Matzek pitched well enough to keep the team in the game. The Rockies outhit the Twins but they couldn’t hit with runners in scoring position.

The bull pen keep digging a hole like they have been for the last month. Sunday the Rockies had a chance at a series win but the bullpen failed them once again. The pitching needs to get better in order to turn this team around to finish out the season strong.

The Rockies did get good news this week. Carlos Gonzalez returned Friday after being out a month. Gonzalez made a position change to right field. He provided great defense and a few hits in offense in his return. LHP Brett Anderson returned on Sunday after missing 2 months with a broken finger.

The Rockies need to reassess over the break. The trade deadline is coming up Colorado needs to make some moves to bolster there pitching. The team needs to seem help.
