The Rockies Need to Figure Out Struggles

The Rockies have struggled of late losing 7 of their last 10 games. If the Rockies want to be involved in the playoff race, now is the time for a gut check. The Rockies need a winning streak in the worst way.

In the last month Colorado has lost Michael Cuddyer, Carlos Gonzalez and Nolan Arenado to injuries. Those players are 2,3 and 6 in the hitting lineup. The Rockies lost three potential All Stars and Gold glove caliber defensive players.

They already have starting pitchers Brett Anderson, Tyler Chatwood and Jordan Lyles to the disabled list. That forced the Rockies to have to call up Christian Friedrich , Christian Bergman and Tyler Matzek.

If all that was not challenging enough, the Rockies have found themselves center stage of the blooper reel the last couple of games. That included a three run wild pitch and that play was bizarre. Then the rally on Sunday was cut short due to Corey Dickerson falling between third and home plate trying to score.

Heading into the season confidence was the highest in the starting pitching than it had been in a long time. The injuries have seem to have taken a toll and some cunted on pitchers have not had starts to count on. Jorge De La Rosa and Jhouolys Chacin were great last season but this year they have fallen flat.

The bullpen has fall short as of late. They can’t hold a game and allow a lot of runs to come through. The starters don’t go far enough so the bullpen has to do extra work.

The team has potential to be good the just need to play together.
